Nigerian music act, 9ice, who sparked a controversy with his recent song, “Living Things” had all the while remained silent about allegations of him promoting fraudsters in the song until a fellow artiste, Falz joined the team of critics.
Since the release of the song, “Living Things,” fans have at different times called 9ice out, saying he is promoting fraud and fraudsters via the song. According to them, the song has had a great deal of negative influence on gullible Naija youths and even Nigerians who are supposedly in the know.
But it seemed like their voices weren’t heard, as neither the singer nor anyone at the top gave voice to the matter until recently when the “Soft Work” crooner, Falz The Bhad Guy decided to unapologetically call a spade a spade. Falz had noted that singers like 9ice should quit promoting fraudulent activities via the lyrics of their songs and fans loved it.
But 9ice has responded to Falz’s comment on his supposed glorification of fraud. In an interview with HIP TV, the Gongo Aso crooner, defended his new tune, saying it isn’t a means of glorifying fraud as the comic rapper put it. According to 9ice, the song is all about “making a living.”
Having aired his mind on the matter, 9ice further urged Falz and other critics who won’t go with his explanation to put a call across to the EFCC if the song bothers them that much. However, 9ice noted that he wouldn’t put much blame on Falz for his perception about the music, as everyone has the right to say whatever they think about a thing.
But then again, 9ice has come under hotter fire for supposedly “daring” to defend the song by replying Falz and even bringing in the EFCC who’s in support of Falz’s words. Many say 9ice should not have replied Falz, as he’s older in the industry and shamefully way down the ladder of musical success.
